Hello, and welcome to Rustic Roots Heritage Homestead! We are Amber and "T", the passionate couple behind this journey towards a simpler, self-sufficient life. Nestled in the picturesque countryside of North Carolina, our homestead is more than just a piece of property—
it's a dream come true, a return to roots, and a path towards a sustainable future.
Meet "T"
T's story begins in a lifestyle many dream of but few experience. Growing up in a self-sufficient environment, he learned the value of hard work, the joys of living off the land, and the skills necessary to thrive without reliance on modern conveniences. However, life took a turn when he was 14, and he moved to the city. For 20 years, T has carried a longing to return to those simpler days, to reconnect with the earth and the fulfilling life he left behind.
Meet Amber
Amber, on the other hand, was born and raised in the city. Her grandmother, a resilient woman who grew up during the Depression era, experienced the harsh realities of self-sufficiency firsthand. Determined to provide a different life for her family, Amber's grandmother moved to the city, distancing herself from the lifestyle she once knew. This city upbringing shaped Amber's early years, but the stories and skills passed down from her grandmother ignited a spark within her—a desire to rediscover and embrace a life more connected to nature and tradition.
Our Journey Begins
Our paths crossed, and together we embarked on a mission to find a piece of land where we could build our dream homestead. After much searching, we found our sanctuary in North Carolina. The house, although in need of a complete remodel, is the perfect canvas for us to create a home that reflects our vision. So we sold it all, ditched the city, and took the chance of a lifetime!

From the sweat and satisfaction of remodeling our home to the joys of planting the first gardens, preserving our harvest, and welcoming animals to our farm, every step of the way will be documented.
